Over the summer I’ve had the pleasure of working with St Phil’s Camera Club, part of Chapel Street Community Arts.

I wanted to inspire them to create a project around portraiture, especially building the confidence to photograph strangers. Theirs is an area in flux and so we posed the question, ‘How is it for you, Islington?’ and set off.

After four weeks shooting we produced a newspaper and two exhibitions. One stayed on the windows of Salford Central station, the other we toured around to meet our audiences. View the participants’ wonderful images in the newspaper below.
