Set up 10 years ago, the homeless charity Emmaus Salford is a relatively new addition to the UK’s 29 Emmaus communities where the emphasis is on providing useful employment for their ‘companions’.

In addition to sketching the day-to-day goings-on, I interviewed and sketched companions and wrote a short history of the local charity that could inform and inspire new communities coming up.
